Motivation to Find A Permanent Teaching Position
This post is dedicated to my Dad, who has always encouraged me to work. I spent the day preparing to substitute teach in three local school districts. After reading this, you will understand why you never saw substitute teachers on "Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous."
180 teaching days X $85 dollars per day* X 1 school year = $15,300 dollars
Kind of takes your breath away, doesn't it?

have you only been looking for jobs in SLO and the surrounding areas or have you been looking everywhere? If you get desperate or adventurous, they are always looking for teachers abroad and the pay kind of ranges but check out goabroad.com if you're interested at all. they always have postings for teachers in obscure places.
DANIEL: Yes, I have been looking outside of the Central Coast. Thanks for mentioning goabroad.com; it sounds interesting.

remember they never show teachers on lifestyles of the rich and famous either. sorry if that kills a dream or two.
DANIEL: That dream died while purchasing my 55th package of Ramen Instant Noodles. There's just something about grocery shopping with quarters and one dollar bills that diminishes your financial optimism.
